Jahliz - R&B Singer

I recently worked with R&B singer songwriter "Jahliz" for her promo shots and album cover in Newport Beach. When Juliette first called me over the phone, she was so excited because she was finally taking the first steps towards her dreams. She was just signed and was already working on tracks for her debut album, "Transformation," a title describing the improvements she has made and continue to make to both of her physique and state of mind through hard work, dedication, and self-belief. After doing some research, what impressed me the most about her was her appearance on Showtime at the Apollo where she impressed the notoriously critical audience and had them dancing on their feet with her amazing vocals.

This photo of Juliette was recently published in the popular Filipino newspaper Balita.

Athletes and Aces in Newport Beach

The annual Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center Athletes and Aces Casino Night was held at the Island Hotel's Palm Garden in Newport Beach. The event is hosted by baseball great Robb Nenn and his wife Jendy, and includes many other athletes that contribute to such a great cause. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to shoot this event because it's a star-studded event and filled with fun.

Charitable Anaheim Ducks Jean-Sebastien Giguere and Samuel Pahlsson pose with the Stanley Cup.

Signed sports memorabilia were donated by the sponsors and sold via a silent auction. "Jiggy" so happened to be in the background so I quickly snapped a shot of this Ducks jersey.

Former Angel Chuck Finley being playful.

Robb and Jendy speaking to the crowd. I admire athletes who take the time out to really give back to the community. You can tell how much they care by all the time and effort they put into it.

Kristine and Rick's Wedding in Newport Beach

Kristine and Rick got married at the Marriott in Newport Beach on a gorgeous sunny day. First of all, I'd like to say what a nice and sweet couple they were to work with. Although they were quite stressed at first, they loosened up and was laughing all night with their guests. Kristine and Rick have been together since they were in high school and it was such a wonderful experience for me to be a part of their special day.

The make-up artist did a really good job with Kristine.

The big moment, walking down the aisle with her father.

The happy couple.

The beautiful cake.

Rick and Kristine had entertaining lion dancers perform during dinner.

Kendra and Kevin at Newport Beach Pier

Kendra and Kevin flew in from Utah to get their engagement shoot done here in Newport Beach because that's where he proposed to her. I always encourage my clients to choose a location that's meaningful to them, and there is no place more appropriate than at the pier for this cute young couple in love.

Just so that there is no question where Kevin proposed. They look so cute together.

Brick walls make for great backgrounds.

And so do colorful walls.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite from a set, but this one is probably it.

Kendra has a genuinely sweet smile.

I wanted to get the surfers and the pier in the background to give it that unmistakable Newport Beach feel.

Kevin wanted to make sure we get some palm trees and I really liked this clock.

Saturday

Child Abuse Prevention Center's Bright Futures Ball

The theme was "Spring Time in Paris," organized by the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center. It was a classy fund-raiser in Newport Beach to aid the battle against child abuse. I was more than happy to do my part in helping this organization. I started doing wedding photography because I had a passion for it, but to be able to use photography to help with a worthy cause is so satisfying.

The program for the night in the well decorated ballroom.

Jaguar was one of the major sponsors for the event.

My favorite shot of the night.

Former Angel and baseball great Bobby Grich attended the event.
