On Saturday I shot Marlene and Solomon's wedding that took us from a church to an arboretum to the Tournament House and then finally to the Universal Hilton. It was an ambitious itinerary that we managed to fulfill, and I have photos to prove it.
A gentle, soft look for the bride.
Marlene wore a beautifully detailed classic wedding dress.
The church provided some nice locations to shoot.
I like how the sun flares symmetrically across the photo.
When Solomon was standing behind me, he saw the angle that I had. He knew this shot would be a winner and he was yelling out to Marlene to let her know.
That's my focused look.
The younger boy will someday have a better chance at grabbing the garter.

Jessica Erstad's Charity Golf Event
I was asked to shoot The 4th Annual Jessica Erstad "Not So Serious" Women's Golf Outing benefiting the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center at the Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda. The theme was "Christmas in June" complete with a Santa greeting guests. Jessica and the CAPC did such a great job with the event in raising money for the center. I am a big fan of these events because it is for a good cause.
The event was held at the Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda.
Santa was great at getting the guests prepped for photos.
18 holes of silly games. This one required you to put in a bell on the green.
I'm glad that there are people out there like Jessica trying to make a difference.
Monday
Kendra and Kevin at Newport Beach Pier
Kendra and Kevin flew in from Utah to get their engagement shoot done here in Newport Beach because that's where he proposed to her. I always encourage my clients to choose a location that's meaningful to them, and there is no place more appropriate than at the pier for this cute young couple in love.
Just so that there is no question where Kevin proposed. They look so cute together.
Brick walls make for great backgrounds.
And so do colorful walls.
It's hard for me to pick a favorite from a set, but this one is probably it.
Kendra has a genuinely sweet smile.
I wanted to get the surfers and the pier in the background to give it that unmistakable Newport Beach feel.
Kevin wanted to make sure we get some palm trees and I really liked this clock.
Sunday
Christine and Roy in Laguna Beach
Despite June gloom, we were determined to make some happy pictures. It wasn't hard because Christine and Roy are such an easygoing couple. We met them at Bluebird Beach in Laguna Beach.
Christine and Roy were really good at relaxing and being themselves.
Sometimes, I don't even need to tell them what to do.
I love the smiles on this shot.
Christine and Roy wanted to bring their handsome dog to the shoot. I love dogs so I was looking forward to it. Hiro turned out to be as photogenic as his owners.
