4th of July

Our little Cheng family spent the 4th in Aliso Viejo watching a fireworks show. I wanted to see how Maylin would react to the fireworks. She wasn't scared in the least, and actually got a little sleepy watching it. I tried to take a few photos of the fireworks and I'll say this much: I am better suited for photographing people. Here are a couple of photos of Maylin waiting for the show to start, and one the show.

For those counting, this little one is now almost six months old!

Charity Event at Mission San Juan Capistrano

San Juan Capistrano, California.

I always love photographing the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center's events, but this one was especially satisfying because it was held at the beautiful Mission San Juan Capistrano. This fundraiser is for a great cause and Suzanne Rico of CBS2 News was there to help.

This puppy was donated and auctioned off to a loving owner.

Entertainment.

There was a raffle to win these gold coins.

Som and Alan's Wedding at Huntington Beach Hyatt Regency

Huntington Beach, California.

It was a perfectly beautiful sunny day in Huntington Beach for Som and Alan's wedding. Som has such a bubbly personality that it was so much fun just following her around the whole day. Many laughs and touching moments later, here are the results:

The beautiful Som.

Alan surprised Som with an Apple box... that had a Tag Heuer watch in it.

The first look before the ceremony.

Som was happy to see friends before the ceremony.

Som designed all the favors and decor for the wedding.

I love when my clients put the engagement photos to good use. The photos looked great printed and framed.

Heather and John in Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach, California.

Heather and John had a cozy wedding reception at her parents' home in Laguna Beach. It was an intimate affair with just close friends and family. I personally know their family and they are simply as wonderful and hospitable as they come. Here are some of my favorites:

The best part of the night definitely had to be when the father of the bride, Lou, didn't even last five seconds into his speech before he broke into tears.

Helen and Dave's Wedding in Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, California.

Let me start off by saying that we love Helen and Dave. They are one of the nicest couples we have ever met. It's no surprise that they were awesome to work with. Everything from their relaxed attitude to the choice of beautiful venues was absolutely perfect. There was a great balance of candids and portraits to capture amazing pictures while keeping it fun and fresh. I had so much fun photographing everything from the beautiful venue to the tender moments that drew tears, even from my eyes.

We started off at the W Hotel in Westwood, then to the wedding at the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, and finally the reception at Lucques restaurant in Los Angeles. It was a perfect day.

Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills must have been built with photography in mind. It's simply gorgeous.

My favorite shot. The light was magical.

Being wine connoisseurs, Helen and Dave brought their own wine to Lucques to serve the guests.
