Laura and Sean - Montage Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach, California.

Laura and Sean were married at the beautiful Montage Resort and Spa in Laguna Beach(one of the most beautiful venues for Orange County wedding photography), at the Studio restaurant. The weather was perfect for a wedding. Laura wanted me to capture the event in a way that friends and family who couldn't make it to the wedding could still experience the beautiful surroundings and details. This included the food, gorgeous landscape, and the memorable candids. There were certainly touching moments, beautiful details, and amazing scenery to take in.

Laura and Sean could not have been more pleasant and accommodating to work with. I'm so glad they invited me to document their wedding. Here are some photos from the lovely intimate affair.

  1. Nice work!

Did you shoot this wedding with the D700?

    What lenses did you use?

    You've got a great eye!

  2. Thank you! Some of the shots were with a D700, some with a D3.

  3. I love your style. I was wondering how many formal poses you do on limited time. So basically the least amount. I am looking into the D700. I now have the D300 and love it with the exception of over-expos prob if you don't really watch it. I have to adj -7 for almost all full sun nef and then still adj in software.

  4. Thanks for your comment. The time for formal poses all depend on the client. Some want to spend a lot of time to get great photos, some don't care too much for it.

The D700 is a great camera, and I would say, the advantage of it over the D300 is better dynamic range (which would help somewhat with exposure issues), better high ISO performance, and great focusing with good lenses.

  6. Wonderful pictures!! They really captured the beauty of their day. I am a beginner and just recently purchased my first "real" camera. So far the pictures that I have captured have been great. I am suppose to take pictures for my brother and his fiances wedding in Destin, FL in June. I have never taken pictures at a wedding and I am sure taking them on white sand will be a challenge all in itself. Do you have any advice for a beginner when trying to capture that special day? Again great pictures!!
